 The Income Tax Department has conducted search and seizure actions on certain individuals

The Income Tax Department has conducted search and seizure actions on certain individuals who had executed Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) with various real-estate developers. During the search, a large number of incriminating evidences were gathered, revealing that the landowners had not disclosed the capital gain income that accrued to them on the transfer of land given for development through JDAs to various developers, even after the authority issued the OCs. The search action covered more than 50 premises spread across Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Goa and has led to the detection of income more than Rs 1300 crore.
